Spartakiada Klutsis


Original vintage postcard commemorating the Russian All-Union Spartakiada in 1928. "советская физкультура - одна из звеньев культурной революции въ ссср" (Soviet physical culture - one of the links in the cultural revolution of the USSR). The Soviet Union held this first Summer All-Union Spartakiad sporting event in Moscow, August 1928. Photomontage design featuring black and white photographs of tennis players and a parade on a colourful background and lettering by the notable Constructivist avant-garde photographer and artist, Gustav Klutsis (1895-1944). Colour lithograph on off-white wove card, excellent condition, four numbers written in pencil on reverse.
