  Dogs are widely recognised as being man’s best friend, offering unconditional love and companionship as pets and help as working dogs in a variety of roles from guide dogs and service dogs to hunting and herding livestock. These loyal and intelligent animals have been featured in books, poems, films, cartoons and artwork for centuries.
