Original vintage motorsport poster for the 24 Heures du Mans / 24 Hours of Le Mans on 18-19 June 1966 featuring the text in bold white lettering below an image of sports car racing at speed towards the viewer over the crest of a hill past the Dunlop and Martini sponsorship advertising and spectators on both sides of the track led by an orange race car numbered 20. This Grand Prix endurance race was won by Ford in the top three places: the New Zealand racing drivers Bruce McLaren (1937-1970) and Chris Amon (1943-2016) in first place and the British driver Ken Miles (1918-1966) and New Zealand driver Denny Hulme (1936-1992) in second place both for the Shelby American team and the American drivers Ronnie Bucknum (1936-1992) and Dick Hutcherson (1931-2005) all for the Holman & Moody team, all in Ford GT40 MKII cars; this dramatic race event has been featured in the 2009 book Go Like Hell and the 2016 documentary film The 24 Hour War and the 2019 film Ford v Ferrari / Le Mans '66 all based on the rivalry between Enzo Ferrari and Henry Ford II and their racing teams. Excellent condition.
