British European Airways BEA Midcentury Hans Schleger

Original vintage travel advertising poster for BEA British European Airways featuring a great mid-century illustration by the notable graphic designer Zero (Hans Schleger; 1898-1976) showing a hand against a lightly cloudy sky making the OK sign with the thumb and finger on London and the routes marked with planes from London to Europe, England and Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and Scotland, the BEA logo in a key shape with a row of colourful flags trailing behind, the text and slogan below: British European Airways the key to faster travel. BEA British European Airways was a British airline operating services within the UK and to Europe, North Africa and the Middle East from 1946 to 1974 when it merged with BOAC to form British Airways. Good condition, restored paper losses in margin, tape marks in margin, staining, backed on linen.
