Guinness Evening Guinness Late Extra News

Original vintage Guinness advertising poster - Evening Guinness - featuring a smiling man wearing a green cap reading the Late Extra copy of the Evening Guinness newspaper and holding a glass of the Irish stout beer Guinness, the articles all featuring news items relating to the drink including the excavation of hand-made Guinness Stout bottles in old mining towns in Western America reveal that the drink was well known there in the 1850s; the German Iron Chancellor Bismarck was fond of Black Velvet (Guinness mixed with champagne) as a pick-me-up; the alternative uses of Guinness as a hair tonic and furniture polish; and the construction of a brewery in Ikeja near Lagos in Nigeria was the first to be constructed outside of Ireland and Great Britain. One of the world's most popular beer drink brands, Guinness is an Irish dry stout founded by Arthur Guinness in Dublin in 1759. Signed EH in the bottom right corner. Large size. Good condition, restored tears, restored folds, backed on linen.
