Original antique Art Nouveau poster advertising the L'Hippodrome Boulevard de Clichy featuring dramatic artwork by the French graphic designer Manuel Orazi (1860-1934) depicting a lady on a horse in a flamboyant costume and headdress leading other performers wearing battle costume and riding horses towards the viewer in an equestrian circus show with seating around the sides in the background and the intricately patterned ceiling architecture above. Located in the Montmartre area of Paris the historical Hippodrome theatre opened in 1900; it became the Gaumont Palace cinema in 1911, renovated in 1954 and demolished in the 1970s. Printed in Paris by Societe D'Impressions D'Art Industriel. Good condition, restored paper losses, restored tears, restored staining, backed on linen.
