Masquerade Art Deco Basel Switzerland


Original antique advertising poster for the Quodlibet Masken-Ball / Masquerade Masked Ball at the Basel lent carnival in Switzerland held at the Casino-Basel on the evening of Monday 6 March. Great illustration in shades of green and red of a lady covering her face with a red fan in front of two masked men in harlequin costume with the stylised text and information with entry costs below. Artwork by Rudolf Urech (1888-1951). The annual historic Carnival in Basel - the Basler Fasnacht - starts on the Monday after Ash Wednesday and is recognised by UNESCO for its cultural heritage. Printed by W. Wassermann, Basel. Large size. Excellent condition, light creasing, backed on linen.
