Original vintage advertising poster - To Visit Britain's Landmarks You Can Be Sure Of Shell - featuring a scenic illustration by the notable British graphic artist, printmaker and art teacher Clifford Ellis (1907-1985) and his wife Rosemary Ellis (1910-1998) of Chanter's Folly And Dry Dock in Appledore on the Torridge River in Devon with a walled path and coastal house in the foreground and a pebble and sandy beach leading round to a sailing boat on the shore and a grassy hill above with the historic Chanter's Folly (1841-1952) tower and trees below a cloudy blue sky, the stylised lettering in the margins above and below. Horizontal. Good condition, restored tears and paper losses on the image, backed on linen.
