St Petersburg Zoo

Original vintage advertising poster for the St Petersburg Zoological Gardens announcing its programme of celebrations for the quarter centenary year anniversary of St Petersburg on Sunday 27 April 1903. Great image featuring the 1782 Bronze Horseman statue of Peter the Great, a battleship in full sail engulfed in smoke and surrounded by smaller rowing boats and a man blowing his whistle, leading a performing bear and various historic and fairy tale characters (wizard, Cossack, soldier etc.) above the stylised Art Nouveau text.
