Original vintage poster entitled The Friendly Road published by and for the Bureau of Social Education National Board of the Young Women Christian Associations. Great illustration by the American artist Anita Parkhurst Willcox (1892-1984) featuring two fashionably dressed ladies wearing smart clothing, gloves and hats walking down a road with the scarf of one flying in the wind behind them, the stylised lettering below and the YWCA triangle logo in the bottom margin. The Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) was founded in the UK in 1855 and in the USA in 1858 (Ladies Christian Association). Printed by Rode & Brand Lithographers, New York. Excellent condition, backed on linen.
