By Breaking Traffic Laws You Risk Your Life

£5,500.00

Original vintage Russian avant-garde road safety poster designed by V. Klimashin. Amazingly dynamic image of a careless tram rider jumping off in front of a speeding Mercedes Benz car with a smaller image of an ambulance racing towards the viewer against a Red Cross inside a circle, the warning text above and below. Given the car door configuration it appears to be a 1935 Mercedes-Benz 770 "Grosser Mercedes" Pullman-Limousine used as a mode of transportation by many state leaders and celebrities; a very unusual if not risky choice of car to depict in the USSR in the 1930s given that Soviet car production was already in full swing. Excellent condition, backed on Japan paper.
