Original vintage Polish film poster for a drama movie directed by Vladimir Vengerov - Zywy Trup / The Living Corpse - based on a play by Leo Tolstoy (Count Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy; 1828-1910), starring Aleksey Batalov and Alla Demidova featuring a drinking glass on a table next to a samovar with steam rising against the dramatic dark red and black background. Tolstoy wrote this play as an unfinished work in c.1900; it was first performed at the Moscow Art Theatre after his death in 1911 and first performed in London by the Literary Theatre Society as The Man Who Was Dead in 1912. Good condition, tears on margins.
