Original vintage movie poster for the Soviet ballet screen adaptation of the play by William Shakespeare - Romeo and Juliet / Ромео и Джульетта (Romeo I Dzhulyetta) - directed by Lev Arnshtam and Leonid Lavrovsky and starring the prima ballerina assoluta Galina Ulanova (Galina Sergeyevna Ulanova; 1909-1998) as Juliet and the principal ballet dancer and director Yuri Zhdanov (1925-1986) as Romeo featuring a stunning image without text of the star crossed lovers on the stage in the foreground, and a character armed with a sword and a musician in front of flaming fire lanterns and a theatre curtain in the background. Award winner of the Best Lyrical Film at the Cannes Film Festival 1955. Good condition, staining, tears on margins, creasing.
