Original vintage Soviet propaganda poster published as part of a campaign aimed at promoting the Socialist homeland from Moscow as the centre of the Soviet way of life to the population living in the Soviet Union. Great design featuring a scenic view of the Kremlin surrounded by trees with the golden domes, red stars and red flag rising into a blue sky, with cars, buses and people crossing the Bolshoy Kamenny Bridge over the Moskva / Moscow River in the foreground, and smaller images depicting more views including the Bolshoi Theatre and a sailing boat on the river, the title above in stylised letters against a red background over a decorative border of wheat and oak tree leaves entwined with a red ribbon leading to a music sheet and lyrics of Москва майская "Утро красит нежным светом..." / Moscow May "Morning paints with gentle light..." decorated with trumpets below. The words to Moscow May (1937, 1959) were written by Vasily Lebedev-Kumach and the music was written by the brothers Dmitri and Daniil Pokrassy. Horizontal. Fair condition, tears and creases in top and bottom margins.
