Passport for Every Horse USSR
£750.00
Original vintage Soviet propaganda poster - Registration passport for every horse - featuring a man with a beard dressed in a hat and warm clothing looking at the viewer and holding two horses on a rope with a foal standing on the side, the message above reading - Certification is aimed at taking into account the number of horses in our country. A passport is issued to all horses regardless of age. Four types of passports are introduced: for stallions, mares, geldings and young animals. In rural areas, passports are issued at passport points at village councils, in cities at passport points of city land departments. Within a month after foaling, the owner of the mare is obliged to register the foal and obtain a passport for it. When the youngsters reach the age of three, their passport is changed to the passport of an adult horse. The passport is filled in by 30 council staff and a representative of the district military commissariat. The purchase and sale of horses is noted in the passport on the basis of an application from both owners to the market committee at the place of purchase or to the nearest village or city council. In case of death or loss of a horse, the owner is obliged to hand over its passport to the village council or the city department within ten days. Fair condition, missing printer's information on bottom margin, most likely trimmed, foxing, staining, backed on linen.
