Original vintage post World War Two poster - The urge to ride to Stalingrad runs into certain difficulties / Der Drang, nach Stalingrad zu reiten, stosst auf gewisse Schwierigkeiten - featuring an image of a Soviet solder in warm winter uniform holding a gun and casually sitting on a stone block depicting a hammer and sickle emblem and an arrow pointing through a snow covered forest to block entry to a group of incompetent German soldiers and officers in Prussian military uniform pointing and trying to come up with an attack plan. Artwork by the German illustrator and caricature artist Ernst Jazdzewski (1907-1995), text by the German journalist and satirical writer Hansgeorg Stengel (1922-2003). Good condition, restored paper losses, restored tears, staining, backed on linen.
