Original vintage United States Marine Corps (USMC; founded 10 November 1775) poster - 167th Anniversary 1775-1942 Always advance with the U.S. Marines Land Sea Air US Marines - featuring a dynamic illustration of an American Marine soldier wearing a green helmet with the eagle globe and anchor emblem on it, brandishing a bayonet rifle gun with illustrations of sword battles and war with a larger U.S. Marines emblem in red in the background and stylised text running diagonally on each side separated with stars, naming various USMC operations including the Bon Homme Richard (that fought in the 1779 Battle of Flamborough Head and was sunk by HMS Serapis) and the WWI Battle of Belleau Wood in 1918 (after which the legend of the Germans nicknaming them Devil's Dogs / Teufelshunde or Hellhound stuck). Printed in USA by McCandlish Litho Corporation. Horizontal. Very good condition, staining on top margin, light creasing, backed on linen.
