Original vintage ski travel poster for the FIS Ski Championships of the World Zakopane Poland 11-19 February 1939. Dynamic design depicting a skier skiing at speed in a slalom race around the letters FIS with a snow covered chalet and trees visible on the mountains in the background, the text on the margin above and a Polish white and red ribbon flowing around the event location and date below. The events for the 9th International Ski Federation FIS World Ski Championships in 1939 hosted by Zakopane were held on the Western Tatras mountain range; Germany won gold with Switzerland in second place (silver) and Sweden in third place (bronze). Issued by Polish State Railways. Good condition, restored crease marks, restored tears, staining, restored folds, backed on linen.
