Original vintage movie poster for the 1957 film directed by Sergey Gerasimov - And Quiet Flows the Don (Тихий Дон / Tikhiy Don) - a six hour epic war drama in three parts based on a novel by Mikhail Sholokhov and starring Pyotr Glebov, Elina Bystritskaya and Zinaida Kirienko about a Cossack village during World War One, the Russian Revolution and the Civil War from 1912-1922. Great design depicting a man in uniform looking out to the viewer with red flags visible on the dark background, a sword in the foreground with the title and credits below. Very good condition, folds, small tear.
