Original vintage Soviet poster for a black and white feature film staged at Lenfilm Studios - Pugachev - directed by Pavel Petrov-Bytov about the 18th century leader of a peasant uprising Emelian Pugachev (Yemelyan Ivanovich Pugachev; c.1742-1775) who pretended to be Tsar Peter III (1728-1762) and led an uprising against Catherine the Great (Catherine II; 1729-1796), known as the 1773-1775 Pugachev Rebellion or Peasants' War / Cossack Rebellion. Great illustration depicting Pugachev wearing a Cossack hat and clothing with armed men on horses and a wooden Kremlin fort in the background, the title in bold text below. Very good condition, light staining and foxing in margins.
