Motorcycling Festival Mexico 1958 Satelite Circuit


Original vintage motorsport poster advertising the Satellite Circuit First Mexican Motorcycle Festival in Satellite City / Circuito Satelite Primer Festival Mexicano de Motociclismo Ciudad Satelite on 20 April 1958 featuring a great graphic design by Jose Horna (1909-1963) depicting a racing driver wearing a helmet and goggles driving his motorbike at speed in black and white with the colourful abstract shapes of the Torres de Satelite / Satellite Towers sculpture and a curved double line as the race track dominating the image, the date above and rest of the bold text below. Founded in 1957 the Ciudad Satelite City is located in Naucalpan in the Greater Mexico City area. Completed in March 1958 the Torres de Satelite was designed by the notable architect Luis Barragan (1902-1988), artist Jesus Reyes Ferreira (1880-1977) and sculptor Mathias Goeritz (1915-1990), comprising five reinforced concrete towers measuring 30-52 metres. Good condition, tears, creasing, staining.
