Schwarzwald Winter Sport Black Forest Games


Original vintage sport poster for the 1926 Black Forest Winter Fighting Games organised by the German Reich Committee for Physical Education - Deutsche Reichsausschuss fur Leibesubungen 1926 Winterkampfspiele Schwarzwald. Great design depicting an ice skating in front of an image of a young athlete with the Gothic black letter text above and rest of the text in stylised lettering below detailing the figure skating and bobsleigh events in Triberg from 23-26 January and the speed skating, ice hockey, curling and toboggan events in Titisee from 28-31 January. The German Fighting Games were first held in the 1890s, relaunched in 1922 as a sports and festival programme similar to the Summer and Winter Olympic Games held every four years until 1938. The town of Tirberg and Lake Titisee are located in the Baden-Wurttemberg are of the Black Forest in south west Germany. Good condition, restored folds, restored tears, restored paper losses on edges, foxing, staining, backed on linen.
