Original vintage Asia travel poster issued by Air Ceylon - Fly the Sapphire Service to Ceylon - featuring artwork by Mart Kempers (1924-1993) of a man riding an elephant decorated in colourful fabric with a seat on its back on a yellow background, a plane flying below the title text above and the Air Ceylon logo at the bottom. Founded in 1947 Air Ceylon was the national flag carrier until 1979; it was replaced by by Air Lanka (now Sri Lankan Airlines). Printed in the Netherlands by Kuhn En Zoon, Rotterdam. Very good condition, minor creasing, minor staining, backed on linen.
