Original vintage travel advertising poster for Australia fly BOAC in association with Qantas featuring a bright and colourful illustration by Frank Nanninga (1920-1999) showing the shadow of a plane cast onto a sandy beach with large striped umbrellas and an open travel book reading Sunshine Surf on a beach towel with sunglasses, flip flops and a Qantas travel bag with the flying kangaroo logo on it, the stylised text above and below. Founded in 1920, Qantas (Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Ltd aka "The Flying Kangaroo") is the national flag carrier of Australia; the airline started international flights in 1935 and is one of the oldest airline companies in the world. The British Overseas Airways Corporation / BOAC was the British state airline created in 1940-1946 as the result of a merger between Imperial Airways and British Airways Ltd, introducing the world's first passenger jets to its service in 1952 and merging again in 1971-1974 to create British Airways / BA. Excellent condition, minor creasing, light stain, backed on linen.
