The British Overseas Airways Corporation / BOAC was the British state airline created in 1940-1946 as the result of a merger, introducing the world's first passenger jets to its service in 1952 and merging again in 1971-1974 to create British Airways / BA. The iconic Speedbird logo was designed for Imperial Airways in 1932 by the English graphic artist Theyre Lee-Elliott (David Lee Theyre Elliott; 1903-1988) and used by BOAC and BA. Horizontal.
