Original vintage poster for the World's Fair Chicago 1833 A Century of Progress 1933 international exposition held from 27 May to 1 November 1933 under the theme of Technological Innovation with the motto Science Finds, Industry Applies, Man Conforms. Stunning design by Glen C. Sheffer (1881-1948) featuring a goddess-like lady holding up her arms, standing on a globe of the world with a sculpture of a scientist and an engineer working below dramatic scenes showing the advances of scientific progress around her, including planes flying in front of skyscrapers with searchlights beaming across the sky in the background, the title text in stylised lettering above and below with the entry cost - Adults 50c Children 25c. Fair condition, several restored paper losses on corners, staining, restored tears, backed on linen.
