Original vintage travel poster advertising the popular seaside resort town of Southport in north west England featuring an aerial view over Southport and the Lancashire Coast below a dramatic sky including the rollercoaster and other entertainment rides at Southport Pleasureland (1913-2006; reopened in 2007 as New Pleasureland), Princes Park and the historic Southport Pier (opened 1860; the country's oldest iron pier and second longest pier after Southend Pier) with sailing boats on the marina, cars driving by, small planes on the sandy beach and the town in the distance, a man and lady walking in the foreground with their golf clubs next to the further information on train tickets and tourist information with the British Railways logo. Artwork by Verney L. Danvers (1895-1973). Printed by McCorquodale, Glasgow. Very good condition, creasing on margin, light fold marks.
