Original vintage cruise travel poster for Compagnie Generale Transatlantique French Line Atlantique Pacifique Mediterranee / Atlantic Pacific Mediterranean featuring colourful artwork by the notable French poster designer Paul Colin (1892-1985) depicting a sleek ocean liner ship flying the Cie Gle Transatlantique flag and sailing across the ocean towards the viewer with the reflective water of the calm sea merging into the sky background of the French flag blue white and red, the bold lettering above and below. Founded in 1861 (having been established in 1855 by the brothers Emile and Issac Pereire), the Compagnie Generale Transatlantique CGT was a French shipping company known as French Line and Transat; it merged with Compagnie des Messageries Maritimes de Marseille in 1976 to form the Compagnie Generale Maritime CMA CGM. Good condition, small restored tears, backed on linen.
