Original antique cruise ship travel poster for the Union Line Steam Ship Company of New Zealand advertising routes via Vancouver, Honolulu and Fiji - Canadian Australasia Line (the all red route) or via San Francisco, Tahiti and Raratonga with services including through bookings and special facilities for tourist and business travellers. Great design featuring a detailed route map of the main routes of associated companies around the world in the centre and a man in traditional Pacific Island dress standing on a canoe boat in front of palm trees between the text below, the black and white images set within a green border with the USSCo Union Jack flag inside a rope circle logo above and the P&O House London address below. Union Line was incorporated in 1875 in Dunedin New Zealand; by 1914 the company was the biggest shipping line in the southern hemisphere and New Zealand's largest private-sector employer; in 1917 it was bought by the British shipping company P & O. Good condition, pin holes, small tears, staining in margin.
