Original vintage World War Two propaganda poster commissioned by the army as an aircraft recognition chart for use in basic army training showcasing different aircraft insignia identification markings with various types of military planes depicted flying over a cloudy grey sky including a Fokker, B24, Stirling, Hurricane, Messerschmitt and Mitsubishi among others, surrounded by a colourful border of aircraft insignia including the British Empire, France, Germany, Japan, Russia and the United States. Artwork by the British artist and author Jack Coggins (Jack Banham Coggins; 1911-2006) who moved to America in 1923 and enlisted with the US Army in 1943. Prepared and distributed by Army Orientation Course, Special Service Division Army Service Forces, War Dept., Pentagon, Washington. D.C. Horizontal. Very good condition, restored folds and restored loss on bottom margin, backed on linen.
