[ON RESERVE] Original vintage World War Two poster: "This is the Year! It's up to us to let 'em have it!" Dramatic image by the British painter and illustrator, Clive Uptton (1911-2006), depicting British troops at the Normandy landings (codenamed Operation Neptune) on 6 June 1944 (termed D-Day) of the Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord during WW2 with soldiers in the foreground amid explosions in the air, at sea and on land while tanks are being off-loaded from Navy transport ships, fighter planes are battling overhead and soldiers are landing on the beach from smaller landing boats, fighting their way up the sand dunes with their machine guns and other weapons. Issued by The Admiralty. Printed by Field Sons & Co Ltd, Bradford, for the Ministry of Aircraft Production, Her Majesty's Stationery Office. PDO1144. Horizontal. Poor condition, restoration to folds, tears and paper loss, staining, backed on linen.
