Half An Engine Railway Home Front WWII UK

£550.00

Original vintage World War Two travel advertising poster: There isn’t even half an engine to spare for unnecessary journeys ...so ‘stay put’ this Summer – Railway Executive Committee. Great illustration against a yellow background by the British poster artist Reginald Mayes (1901-1992) showing a full length blue locomotive engine on a railway track with a worker dripping oil onto the tracks, looking up at the train missing its wheels, the text above and below in red and blacks letters. Good condition, restored tears and minor loss on margins, light staining, backed on linen.
