He Wanted To See Inside WWII Abram Games

£750.00

Original vintage World War Two safety poster - He wanted to see inside Accidents occur daily through wilful tampering. Taking ammunition to pieces is illegal, wasteful and dangerous. Ask the expert - featuring a modernist design by the notable British graphic designer Abram Games (Abraham Gamse; 1914-1996) depicting two skeleton hands holding parts of a bomb with missiles and other ammunition devices on top of a coffin in red rising as if to heaven above an explosion on the ground in the distance below, set against a cloudy sky background with the bold stylised lettering in yellow and in black and red below. Printed for H.M. Stationery Office by Alf Cooke Ltd, Leeds and London. Good condition, small restored tears, backed on linen.
